Review of Heartburn (1986) by Scot C — 13 Jun 2010
"He had hamsters named Arnold and Shirley. And he was always whipping up little salads for them".
I watched this film purely because I wanted to see Meryl Streep at this stage of her career. And to see how her and Jack Nicholson work together. This is by no means the best film they've ever done even though there performances are strong. It's a drama that's lacking in a lot of comedy. It is very straight forward paced, with not many explosions in the storyline. A young Kevin Spacey makes a surprise appearance in a cameo role. Not a great film, but i'm glad I watched it.
