Review of Heart of Glass (1976) by Fitz K — 03 Apr 2011
Like many of Herzog's films, "Heart of Glass" deals with the mechanics of obsession. Here (I think) its about the need to control and understand artistic expression and use it as a means to maintain the status quo, which is impossible.
Its a hypnotic film and the prophetic speeches of the character 'Hias' are quite marvelous.
