Review of He Was a Quiet Man (2007) by Robert H — 24 Sep 2008
I'll start by saying that Christian Slater is as good as he has been in...well..ever maybe. This is at least his best performance of the decade. That being said, this movie sort of loses it's way somewhere along the way. The beginning is slow, but the middle third is really, really good. I won't give anything away, but to me, the ending made absolutely no sense at all...none. If you are looking for the bizarre, and really want to see Christian Slater step out of his type cast and shine, then this is definitely worth a glimpse. If it is a complete movie that you are seeking, you might be slightly disappointed.
- 6.5.
Ps - Standing up in my cubicle and blasting off some rounds is not at all an uncommon desire...trust me. :).
