Review of He Was a Quiet Man (2007) by Wasif I — 06 Dec 2008
One of the original brat pack, Christian Slater chews down on this role well and rarely you can tell if its him, not least because of any amazing prosthetics, but rather his great morph into Bob Maconel, a tapered down yet creepy version of Michael Douglasâ??s "D-Fens" (Falling Down, 1993).
However, it's Elisha Cuthbert who is amazing as Venessa Parks and who steals the show every time she is on screen. A touching movie which veers between a dark comedy and a drama (with a horrible karaoke scene which is guaranteed to make you flinch) before ending rather flatly.
Watch it only for the impressive acting by Slater and Cuthbert.
