Review of He Was a Quiet Man (2007) by Phil N — 24 Mar 2010
Bob (Slater) is an office monkey, bullied by his superiors and dreams of blowing them all sky high. But then he saves Venessa (Cuthbert) from a gunman and is given a promotion, but his new found popularity only quells those killer urges for a short while.
This is a dark comedy, with some biting moments and other gags that just feel completely odd (talking goldfish?) yet it gets by thanks to a credible performance by Slater, and good support from Cuthbert.
