Denzel gives a great performance but Ray Allen nearly sinks the movie playing his son as stiffly and unlikeable. Yes in the great tradition of Shaq in Kazaam and Dennis Rodman in Simon Sez, Allen joins the basketball players who can't be actors tradition.
Add in really uneeded subplot with Milla Jonovich as hooker with a heart of gold, that Washington develops a relationship with that seems like it came from another movie.
