Review of Haywire (2011) by Dtpatterson — 23 Jan 2012
Soderbergh, perhaps in a misguided attempt to show that acting isn't so hard fails spectacularly with this lifeless film. The limp narrative, all too familiar elements of the genre, and acting limitations of the lead keep Haywire from thrilling at all.
Carano deserves praise for her impressive stunt work in what seems like a direct rebuke of the camerawork and editing of the Bourne series. This was a sizable disappointment from one of the best directors today.
