Review of Haywire (2011) by Dharma — 07 May 2012
What does it take to make an action film? Well, apparently it's plenty, looking at the failure of this film despite its pedigree. Gina Carano has the physicality but all her action scenes are shot in an anemic fashion.
Critics call it 'less confusing', but to me it's boring. Soderbergh may be one of my favorite director, and yes this is a 'bold' experiment for him but he is no action director. If you want to see a 'similar film', see 'Salt'.
