Review of Haywire (2011) by Dominick M — 10 Oct 2012
Great fucking fight scenes. Some of the best fight scenes of recent memory. I loved how the director just sat back and let the violence unravel -- also there were very few quick cuts and montages with music over it.
Every punch, knee, kick, choke, thud just sounded so much better this way. Also, I loved that they let Gina use actually MMA moves thus making everything about it a tad bit more realistic. I also did love the soundtrack for the movie.
There really wasn't much wrong with the film. Maybe the explanation for why they wanted to kill the girl wasn't as interesting as you want -- but still a very solid action movie. And well made action movies are my favorite.
Good Concept Good Execution.
