Review of Haywire (2011) by Sam C — 31 Jul 2012
The choreographed fight scenes show off Carrano's acrobatic fighting skills but they come across as too staged and fake. Her very limited ability to emote and act makes it all the harder to to take her scenes seriously.
The presence of an impressive supporting cast just highlights her deficiencies even as they are largely wasted in the film. Soderbergh is obviously well loved by critics because that can be the only reason they gave this turgid actioner a pass.
