Review of Haywire (2011) by Eden R — 28 Jun 2013
Soderbergh often experiments between his bigger vehicles and this is typical of that kind of film. The story is very lean and in many ways totally predictable. Dialogue is quite stilted despite a stellar cast.
The only highlight was Gina Carano in the lead: sure her acting is average to say the least but I have seen worst; her physicality more then compensates. When you see Carano, punch or kick it looks like the real thing.
I would say this is the first time I have seen an actress embody that level of skill. Remake Tomb Raider and sign me up!
