Review of Haywire (2011) by Paul B — 27 Dec 2014
Gina Carano is excellent in Steven Soderburgh's noir-inspired movie of double crosses and treachery. A nicely complex plot is revealed fully and clearly, never becoming too confusing or too slow and is interspersed with some excellent action scenes.
Carano is superb but also vulnerable; there's a huge realism to the fight scenes and they are never too over the top. A good finale helps round of an interesting, often compelling and exciting film.
