A landmark film. Highly original, and creative in it's reach, and well worth watching simply from a History of Film perspective.
The final act invokes what today would be considered some fairly dubious psychological reasoning. Perhaps it's trying to imply that psychology could also be full of superstition.
I think its interesting to note that many of the symptons described could be put down to Multiple Scelrosis. Found out recently that Freud knew what MS was, but found it more profitable to mislead others by labling it as hysteria...
