Review of Hatchet III (2013) by Hugo G — 19 Jun 2013
I've seen the previous installments of this franchise, and they didn't had the best story or actors, but at least they had some great make up with a lot of gore and blood! And this one even though it had a new director, it still had the same vibe and he actually made some good work.
Although I didn't expect for the protagonist to be so little time on screen, the final sequence was just the best part of the film and I would totally love to see a fourth movie to know what happened with Victor Crowley and Marybeth-who hopefully would appear more.
The acting was average, but I don't think it was very important. I liked the fact that it was scary, but also it was funny. Because it didn't take itself serious at those moments plus it was more entertaining.
The practical effects used for the death scenes weren't the most real ones in comparison with the previous Hatchet films and other horror movies, but at least they made the effort to go over the top and be as gory as the could.
