(2013) Hatchet III.
HORROR/ SUSPENSE/ COMEDY.
Old school slasher flick which continues where the last one left off with heroine Marybeth (Danielle Harris) hacking almost unkillable Victor Crowley. After leaving the urban legend of Honey Island Swamp, she walks into the town's local police station while holding a shot gun on one hand and someone's scalp on the other only to be taken down again. Of course, the police in charge doesn't believe her and they locked her up while they check swamp where many people were hacked to death. Female Reporter, Amanda (Caroline Williams) who's the cops ex, African American Deputy Winslow, and Marybeth then go an a crusade to retrieve Victor Crowley's father's ashes since that is why he's bent on killing and is hard to kill who acts like a Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers and a Jason of Friday The 13th movies.
For a movie that's only an hour and a half, this film has a fair amount of inventive gory scenes mixed with some sarcastic humor for they're times the heroine act like the female equivalent of Ash of the "Evil Dead" movies. It's just a film I wouldn't watch again.
2.5 out of 4 stars.
