Review of Hatchet (2006) by David L — 25 Apr 2010

Basically a spin-off from the Friday 13th series, which even cast the same actor as the disfigured villain. Difficult to rate this any different from any other bog standard slasher really, although it did have a few more 'jumpy' moments which added to the tension.

There was also some lighthearted comedy added through Deon Richmond's character, and through the typically patchetic persona of the American girly girls. Unfortunately, I did have my doubts of the quality of this film from the very first scene whereby the gore effects were pretty poor and unrealistic.

Sadly this continued throughout the films death scenes, but at least it added a bit more comedy for viewers, if nothing else.
