Review of Hatchet (2006) by Elise H — 26 Feb 2009
Hatchet is a huge and silly throwback to the slashers of the 80s about a bunch of people on Mardi Gras who end up taking a swamp tour and then suddenly crash because their dimwit boat driver doesn't know what the hell he is doing.
They soon find out about Victor Crowley. A man who is disfigured, living in the swamp, and has something stuck up his ass since he goes and starts killing them all off one by one. The blood splatters in this movie are hilarious.
The cameos (Robert Englund, Tony Todd) are amusing and Kane Hodder plays hillbilly Vic himself. If you want a funny and brainless modern slasher, this is certainly your pick.
