Review of Hatchet (2006) by Thomas H — 13 May 2013
For a low budget horror movie, this was pretty good. It was just as I expected: not that great but not that bad either. The beginning scene starts off like something you'd see on SyFy (well the whole movie seems like something on there, but anyway).
The atmosphere of the movie wasn't that nice, though. And the alligators didn't look real at all. The killer (Victor Crowley) made this movie terrifying. His face and other features creeped me out, including the story behind him.
The flashback scenes were really creepy too. And the blood and gore in this movie were great, too. The killings kept on going throughout. The first 30 to 45 minutes are pretty slow, but once the catastrophe happens with the boat, that's when it gets good.
And you'll never see the end coming. If you're looking for a gorefest/bloodbath, this is the movie foe you.
