When you get past the typical street talk, you have a movie that starts off rather slow and elementary and grows into a Christian Bale version of Running Scared with latino overtones. Is it good? Yes, would I recommend it? Yes, strictly because the last 20 minutes kicked it up an entire star for me.
If you like the street-talk gangbanger flicks or if you like Christian Bale, you'll like this movie.
