Review of Harsh Times (2005) by Nam C — 05 Jan 2009

After a completely pointless first act, the film improves a little. Unfortunately, it's still not enough to give a damn about. Bale does a good job playing a psychotic ex-Ranger, but it's too bad that his character only has one aspect that's worth respecting, and by the end of the film that's gone, too.

In the end, what we're left with are a bunch of characters who are as uninteresting as they are unethical, and one memorable sequence in which shotgun bullet fragments travel in slow motion through a car.
