Christian Bale is a violent, foul-mouthed psycho powering through Los Angeles leaving battered bodies in his wake. So this is the perfect role for him - furrowing his brow and flexing his chops as a wanna-be Latino ex-soldier looking for a place with the LAPD and dragging his craven buddy into all sorts of vice-reated scrapes.
It's rubbish to be sure, but it's high-energy, low-effort rubbish and quite entertaining.
