Review of Harsh Times (2005) by Matt T — 08 Mar 2009
Harsh Times is one of those movies that really makes you sit back and think your life over. Especially if you have a knack to screw up and go down the wrong path. The atmosphere of the movie was more than I could ask for in any movie.
It really puts you down into East L.A. The acting was really good, especially Christian Bale. To me it is probably one of his most notable performances next to American Psycho. This movie is very much in the same style as movies like Training Day and Street Kings.
I guess I just really love movies like this. I love his performance though, it was just fantastic. He nicely fleshes out a very mentally disturbed ex-army personnel who doesn't exactly fit into an every day society.
There are tons of good morals to be found and perfect scenarios of 'what to not do'. Christian = Crazy all over again. 4-starz.
