Review of Harsh Times (2005) by Jeff R — 05 May 2009
Harsh Times is a medicore film, Christan Bale and Freddy Rodriguez give good performances. At first I didn't understand what the story was about, Drugs, A confused War Veteran, etc etc. Deranged and neurotic ex-Ranger Jim Davis meets his friend 'Mike' Alonzo. He expects to get a job at the LAPD and to marry his girlfriend so she can live in america but turns out that Jim gets a letter stating he has been refused, and he goes nuts and becomes increasing violent, Mike cannot stand it and gets worried about him every moment. it's sort of like Taxi Driver except our main character is not a taxi driver and does not buy loads of guns and shaves his head and saves a prostitue no it's not Taxi Driver this is Harsh times.
