Review of Harsh Times (2005) by Rocknblues 8 — 06 Sep 2009
Real letdown. I can't claim to know if all the accents in the film are spot on, but I can say that this is a very uninteresting movie with characters that aren't interesting. Director David Ayer tried to capitalize on the momentum from his previous movie Training Day (He was that screenwriter) with a tale that has some similarities, but the characters simply aren't interesting enough to cover up for the extremely thin plot.
It's simply self-destructive characters doing self- destructive things in a no so interesting manner. Even Alpha Dog is better than this film. Ayer's follow up Street Kings wasn't really any better.
