Review of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) by Brandon W — 26 Feb 2015
There's two main differences in the third movie, the replacement for the late Richard Harris, and a different director that is Alfonso Cuaron. Michael Gambon is actually a great replacement, but is not as good though, but I'm not going to give that a negative.
For the director's way, it actually made this better than the first and second film. The three leads are getting better like they're growing up in the movie. It's actually the first movie that when I first saw it, I closed my eyes because I was getting really scared of the movie, and that's because it gets more and more dark so far.
The effects are amazing and creative. It develops a bit of chemistry between Ron and Hermione which I'm glad they put it in, even if it's short. The story is great and never seem to be similar to the previous films.
he cast is great as usual, but what was actually one of the highlights, is Gary Oldman who is just fantastic in this, even if he was barely in it. David Thewlis, Emma Thompson, and Timothy Spall are also really good in it that made it memorable.
I was starting to think that if there's questions that weren't answered in the movie, then you have to read the book to find out, which at first I was thinking that's a bad thing, but consider that it's based on a book, I'll let it slide.
It's more exciting and still has lots of funny moments. It has more emotional depth than the previous films, and it's the best Harry Potter film so far.
