Review of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) by David M — 17 Feb 2013
The first of the Harry Potter movies, based on the first book, and which suffers somewhat from being almost *too* faithful to the novel (which might seem a strange criticism).
Having just rewatched it for the first time in years, you forget how young most of the principle cast were in this film, and how most of them seem to be completely over-acting their role! Alan Rickman, however, (as Severus Snape) is always good value for money.
