Review of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) by Maxwell T — 06 May 2013
This is a feel-good film for sure, and a hell of a way to start off the franchise. I remember watching this movie in the theaters as a kid, and then journeying back into the books, re-reading the whole series for the third time.
Radcliffe, Watson, and Grint all find their strong suits in their roles, but with all child actors, there's room for improvement. This point is of course null and void due to the fact that they're all grown up now, and have proven themselves as actors! All of the professors make outstanding acting decisions and the ensemble cast is neatly, and masterfully, outlined with the finest Britain had to offer.
4/5.
