Review of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) by Theapplegnome — 12 Sep 2016
A truly magical journey of mystery -- both characters and the basic premise is cleverly hidden behind this warm & happy character-diverse world. Well chosen actors and natural chemistry is a gigantic plus -- meanwhile a too simplistic and slow story might bring it a but further down.
Its far-stretched and slowly developed plot, but a happy one; is a wonder to follow. Add the never ending parallels with childhood & the struggles of being young and to grow up -- with a touching and never-forgetting score by Williams.
It’s a classic first (but not flawless) entry.
