While the absence of Steve Kloves as screenwriter is noticeable, the cinematography more than makes up for it, as sweeping shots of the castle and touching emotional shots enhance this chapter of the series.

All the actors turn in great performances, notably Dan Radcliffe, who is becoming quite the skilled actor. Finally, the story, while straying a little from the book, remains good, focusing on Harry and Voldemort's connection and how it affects Harry and those around him.
