Review of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) by Nicholas F — 08 Oct 2013
Harry Potter 5 is an intense and immensely satisfying adaption of the book. Newcomer David Yates has done the impossible by taking the 870 page book and turning it into a fantastic movie that is just under two and a half hours.
Yes, some material from the book was lost, but we are focused so much on the central story that we really do not notice. I love the introduction of four new strong female characters (Luna, Tonks, Bellatrix, and Umbridge) and all the actresses that play them.
The massive battle between the Order and the Death Eaters is incredible, and then the confrontation between Dumbledore and Voldemort is very intense and spine tingling. This movie is definitely a stand-out from the entire Harry Potter series.
