Review of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) by Monkey P — 08 Oct 2013
Darker and continuing the blockbuster film franchise's sophistication. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is helmed with bold, stylish and dazzlingly magical visuals, as expected, while it does suffer from a quick pace which romps along with it's actions, even when some moments *SPOILER ALERT(specifically Sirius Black's death) I think should have deserved more of a enhanced and significant payoff.
But the film does however feature strong, dignified performances from its cast, particularly Daniel Radcliffe delivering his most complex, matured and emotionally involving performance of the title character.
And Imelda Staunton bringing one of the most twisted, memorable characters in the Harry Potter saga to vivid life. While it does have some faults, pacing-wise, the film is still an entertaining, complex and emotionally resonant installment in the Harry Potter film phenomenon.
4/5 stars.
