Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011) by Ed O — 16 Oct 2014

I finally finished the series. The second part to the final school year for Harry Potter, compared to the first, this is much more economical. As one might expect from a grand finale, the series reaches its ultimate climax -- the long-awaited duel between Harry Potter and Voldemort -- and characters have dramatic moments to indicate how they have grown as people.

Progressing through all of the films, I sometimes questioned the charisma of Radcliffe, Grint, and Watson, but they remained dedicated to their characters. In their performances, I see that they are aware of how so young they are for such an apocalyptic situation, but they try to take charge of certain fronts as best as they humanly can.

The magic is as dazzling as always, especially with one spell, a fire dragon, terrifying me for every person in the scene. Truthfully, I postponed watching this for so long that I don't even care about writing my usually long and detailed review.

It's a good film, one of the best of the series. I might be too tired of Harry Potter to like the finale, or even the series as a whole, with high enthusiasm. What a very long journey, it has been.
