Review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011) by Natasha R — 04 Mar 2015
I had to let this one sink in for a while. So, Harry Potter comes to an end. I'll start by saying I am a big fan of the series, both books and movies. With that, I'm not the kind of fan who's gonna walk out of the theatre and say "OMG THAT WAS SO AMAZING!!".
But, being a fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, but I believe the ending was disappointing. I won't spoil anything for the very few who haven't read the book or seen the movie, but I believe for everything that the story and characters have gone through, the ending was a bit weak and confusing and I wish it would have been done differently, quite honestly.
But, it was still a good movie, and I'd rank it 3rd best in the series behind Half-Blood Prince and Prisoner of Azkaban. It was tremendously acted and very exciting. I loved seeing characters such as Neville and McGonagall play big parts and kick a lot of ass.
Every Harry Potter movie does a terrific job in emotionally investing the audience with it's characters and Deathly Hallows is no exception. It's sad to see it all end after growing up with these books and movies.
My opinion on the ending is the only thing keeping me from rating this as a perfect movie and it'll take away a whole star in my rating, but it didn't stop me from liking this final chapter very much.
