Review of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) by Anthony S — 20 Sep 2014
Chamber of Secrets is a darker and more mature offering than Philosopher's Stone and manages to be both faithful to the book and a strong film in its own right. The story feels more tense and less basic than the first film and the acting from the main cast has improved a lot from Philosopher's Stone.
Some of the comic relief does get too distracting and even annoying at times and I didn't like how Ron was made into a blithering cowardly idiot in this film. Overall though, it's one of the strongest entries in the series and a huge improvement over its predecessor.
