Review of Harry Brown (2009) by Izzy N — 24 Dec 2010
Despite Michael Caine's terrific performance,.
This is one tense and gritty flick. Caine is completely believable as a 70 yr old vigilante and his actions are realistic, but so is the violence. A well-made film, but it's a tough sit...especially when the camera lingers too long on the strung-out street punks. These junkies make the kids in "Trainspotting"look like they belong in "Bright Lights, Big City". Some critics are comparing "Harry Brown" to"Gran Torino" and to that I say---I don't think they saw either film.
