Review of Harry Brown (2009) by Tim C — 19 May 2011
Didn't like it.
I had high expectations for this film, I'm a huge fan of Michael Caine and I really enjoyed Emily Mortimer in Shutter Island. This film just didn't do anything for me though, the story sounded promising but failed to deliver in practically every way.
Not enough back story on Caine's character at all, felt like his personal life and ex marine life and friendship with his best friend all could've been explored much more deeply. Also took forever to get the ball rolling, first time Caine shoots someone isn't until about little over halfway through the movie. Didn't really like how anything played out from the way he got his weapons, to why he did what he did, to what he did with the girl he found, to how it ended. Was all blah for me. Did not like this movie at all.
