Review of Harry Brown (2009) by Paul K — 28 Oct 2011
A fantastically gritty portrait of life on the scummiest of scummy council estates of England. Drug dealing, moral free chavs terrorising the other people that reside there. Michael Caine as an Elderly citizen represents the most victimised, and his life falls apart slowly he begins to reawaken feelings he has long since repressed as he is slowly inspired to take vengeance against the scum bags that killed his best friend in some hell hole underpass.
Whilst the film is not always necessarily believable it is a very exciting and involving film. there is some graphic violence and the portrayals of some scumbag characters literally makes your skin crawl, but I have been recommending this film all day since watching it!!! Brilliant acting all round, brilliant cinematpgraphy.... 5 out of 5 no doubt!
