Review of Harry and the Hendersons (1987) by Justin H — 24 May 2011

I loved this film as a kid, and after re-watching it for the first time in probably at least a decade, I'm happy to say that it still holds up even today. The creature effects are great, and the story is charming, in a cheesy, '80s sort of way.

Yes, the environmentalist message is a bit unsubtle, but it's not like we're treading "Ferngully" territory here. Characters don't always act believably, and the overall premise is rather silly, but if you're willing to suspend your disbelief a bit, "Harry and the Hendersons" proves to be a fun, endearing family film.
