I thought this would just be a sweet story about a horse saved from slaughter, but I was drawn deeper into the stories of the DeLeyer family and how their lives intertwined and were impacted by this chance decision.

That the "characters" in the movie were the actual people made it even more meaningful--it was really remember this a documentary, as the story unfolded in natural rhythms, bringing the whole audience to tears and smiles at the end.
