Review of Harrison's Flowers (2000) by Mitchell Y — 17 Jul 2007
I actually thought this portrayal of the horror of Sarajevo to be haunting and reminiscent of Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later, even down to the inclusion of Brendan Gleeson in the cast. The humanity of the leads is offset by the dehumanization and atrocity they encounter and it weighs heavy.
This is an underappreciated great film that is often overlooked. The story of a missing journalist in a wartorn zone is particularly relevant to the times we live in today.
