Review of Harper (1966) by Josh S — 20 May 2009
Well old stick, Newman and Webber really carry this flick. While the acting is all around good, there were some down right terrible directing choices. Pretty much all the scenes of lame 60's dancing could be cut and burned.
Great dialogue which would fit perfectly coming from the lips of Sam Slade. Newman plays Harper in a way that no one else ever could have. Every gesture and every inflection is so heavily laden with character that it makes you ache for the days when Newman was still amongst us.
