Review of Harold and Maude (1971) by John A — 12 Mar 2009
Enjoyed this a fair bit, even if it was a little too quirky and preachy for its own good. However, the arc of these two characters passing through each others lives while making a significant impact brings a hearty appreciation for life.
Ashby's editing of the final sequence is especially good, as the montage brings the film some emotional momentum for the final scene. And a big thumbs up for the Cat Stevens tunes.
