This is one of a very few older woman/younger man movies since most directors are old dirty perverts and create movies with older man/younger woman relationships. And Harold and Maude works so much because unlike other older person/younger person movies, it is very sincere and passionate about life and the relationship is less of a perversion or a fetish and more of a passion for life and the balance between life and death.
