Review of Harold and Maude (1971) by Richard H — 23 Apr 2010
One of the funniest and saddest love stories ( albeit a very weird one) ever put onto film. Bud Cort doesn't really show much personality until the last half hour, where the film becomes more tragic.
Ruth Gordon is truly amazing, one of the best comedic performances I've seen. Her Maude is clearly the most badass 80 year old woman in creation, how she wasn't up for an Oscar for this I'll never know.
