Review of Harold and Maude (1971) by Dan G — 01 Apr 2014
I suppose there are quite a few people who view this film in two opposite ways. Those who are bright-eyed and open will feel almost reborn in their young ambitions of love and life, not putting a stop to the dreams of youth no matter what the age.
Others may see the relationship of a young man and an almost 80-year-old woman disgusting and altogether inappropriate. I choose the former. It's a charming movie that falls flat to me in the morbid humor category (which 70s humor often does for me) but succeeds in its overall message.
