I have seen much better films. Alot better. But for me it is important for one reason. This film made me realise the mechanics, aesthetics and subtlties of cinema. The right fim at the right time. It has had influenced on me far beyond the extent of it's quality or intention.
As 'B-grade' as this film now appears, it does have some redeaming features. The score and the use of music is interesting; using classical arias as well as bands like Ministry and PIL (Public Image Limited).
Visually the film is crude, dirty and very orange - all of which I belive work in it's favour. And the fact the film features Lemmy and Iggy pop has to count for some thing? Yes Hardware is not the best movie, but what this film made me aware of is priceless.
