Review of Hardware (1990) by Philip M — 14 Oct 2007

I enjoy dark graphic novels (+1), am ambivalent about cyberpunk (0) and I hate the 80s (-1). What won me over was the early blues music. It's a pretty fun movie but suffers from the small scope (the killer robot never leaves the apartment) and they never brought back the guy who found the robot's head despite the fact that he was easily the best character.

And they should have pulled back on the red filter--you could barely make out the American flag painted over the robot head. That the killer robot's head was painted over with an American flag should tip you off to the fact that it's an amazing premise.
