I was actually present at the world premiere of this, but still fell asleep about halfway through! So, eighteen years on, did Hardware keep me awake this time around? Well, yes, but I did also have the benefit(!) of a screaming baby to help prevent me from nodding off.
That said, the beginning and end sequences set in the desert are beautiful, but these just serve to make the rest look almost as cheap as the sub-Argento thrills on offer. One for Zone Horror completists only I'm afraid.
