Review of Hard to Kill (1990) by Matt V — 06 Feb 2012
A hard-hitting action film, Seagal proves that once again he can carry his own in an action film. There is also great chemistry between Seagal and the leading lady Kelly LeBrock. Filled with plenty of action, "Hard to Kill" is a great hit in Seagal's resume.
However, there are several problems with the film overall. The storyline is unoriginal with no twists or turns. The dialogue is so-so, with a little bit of cheese here and there. The film itself doesn't truly stand out from any of the other countless 80's and 90's action films, but it is one of Segal's best films.
There is almost no heart or feeling in the film. You have to look hard to find even the fainest trace of feeling. This is what is keeping the film from being an incredible action film. It is still a great film to watch and really backs the saying "Don't wound what you can't kill or keep dead".
