Review of Hard Rain (1998) by Blake B — 28 May 2009

This movie just went all over the place...too many times of me stopping & saying "wait, what? really?" ...christian slater (and other characters) cracking too many one-liners, considering they've just spent the past 90 minutes being shot at or electrocuted or drowned or whatever.

..flirting & making jokes wouldnt exactly be the first thing coming to mind...it failed to have any dramatic qualities, altho I did feel good when Morgan Freeman gets away with at least a lil loot.

..as far as being a straight action movie, it worked (ignoring the scientific flaws that lots of action movies have anyway)...it was fun watching two jet-skis chase thru a flooded high school, it was fun watching a church get smashed & burned, it was fun watching a dam fail.

..so basically, the action comes close to balancing out the flaws, but not quite evening out...and I still havent seen a minnie driver character that I liked...
